Day 20 - God's Best

Ok - so I started this blog a while back with the idea of showcasing the "Best's" of my friends -
The special things abotut the people who make my life full and rich and so enjoyable!

In the mean time it took the role of a place to blog my current project 365 -
So in an effort to start accomplishing both -
acknowledging the best of my friends and my still doing my work,
I decided to get started combining them!

I actually wanted to do this the other day when I walked into my husbands shop
and saw his latest 2 paint projects!

So you can guess by now - at the top of that list is my husband!
BTW - If he knew I was doing this though he wouldn't be thrilled with me! :)

So it's our little secret -
well, for about the next 10 minutes until he turns around and catches me blogging about him! :)

I met my husband on January 24, 1997.
He was an aspiring classic auto painter at that time with big dreams.
He wanted to restore and old house, own his own classic auto restoration business
and be married (to me) by the time he was 25.

Well, he didn't quite accomplish all his goals on time...but he did accomplish them.
He began painting in another guys shop about 12 1/2 years ago.
In October 2002 he opened his own shop and started doing frame off restorations of classic cars.

Today - He is one heck of a painter and expert builder of classic cars.
God has certainly given him a special talent beyond the average guy.
A meticulous guy about his shop and the work he puts out -
I just couldn't help but oogle when I walked in yesterday to find his newest painted car.
(Not yet fully assembled...so don't worry...you're not missing something)

I called this collection of shots the mirror image -
If you don't know anything about paint and the finishing you wouldn't know that black is possibly the easiest  color to lay down but the hardest color to make look flawless (since it accentuates every flaw of the car).

So the fact that I could just about put my make up on in the reflection of this car just made me smile so big!
SO Proud doesn't even describe the feelings!
This car looks like a mess to the untrained eye - but to someone who has seen these works in progress once or twice - you will realize - things are just taking shape!

And just in case you haven't laid eyes on my father's Corvette's that he fully restored for him, you can check them out on my website under the "Cars" gallery  at

Here's one more fine example of a custom stripe paint job & body kit
he painted and put on another customers car.

Good Job Babe!
